Trivia:

The "Welcome to Scranton" sign featured in the opening credits, formerly located on the Central City Expressway, is now on display in the food court of the Mall at Steamtown. It is setup with a backdrop so people can get their picture with it. It was moved there when the city replaced the signs with new signs.

Goofs:

Revealing mistakes: Although the show is set in Scranton, Pennsylvania, every episode set outside during the winter features an unrealistically warm climate. Although characters always wear overcoats and pretend to shiver, numerous things reveal the actual California filming location. Some of these include: no visible breath, no snow, full lawns and trees covered with green leaves.

"A Comedy Not For Everyone." Boy, is that right!

I never saw the British original nor read anything about this show, so I had no idea of what it was all about or what to expect except that it was supposed to be some sort of comedy revolving around an office.

What I saw was This Is Spinal Tap in an office setting - only this time the purpose of the documentary style was not explained.

The characters may be all too real satires or stereotypes of people one might encounter in a sales office, but here they come off as simply annoying. Perhaps in reality these types are deserving of being spoofed by those who have to work with them, but they are grating when most of the audience is not in on the joke.

NBC says this is a comedy not for everyone. Nothing could be more true.
