Bastards, bastards, bastards! The best part about Quentin Tarantino appropriating the title for his upcoming movie from Enzo Castellari's high-energy original is that I get to satisfy my inner 11-year-old and tell you all about the latest Inglorious Bastards withour fear of recrimination from parental figures. Diane Kruger is the highest-profile new bastard, according to Variety, joined by Christoph Waltz and writer / actor / comedian Paul Rust.
Kruger, the hellenic beauty who first made a splash on these shores opposite Orlando Bloom in Troy -- which also starred soon to be chief bastard Brad Pitt as a bit of a heel -- will play Bridget Von Hammersmark (not "Hammer Snark," smart guy), a German actress. Kruger is fine casting since, of course, she is a German actress, and already has experience playing WWII theatrics with the flick Joyeaux Noël (Merry Christmas), but I'm sorry that Nastassja Kinski will not be playing the role.

Quentin Tarantino has started hiring his Nazis. Variety reports that three more are being added to the cast of Inglorious Bastards. Diane Kruger, probably best known for as the babe from National Treasure (though we saw more of her, literally, in Troy), has been brought on board to play German actress Bridget Von Hammersmark. She plays a key role in the movie.s plot to take out the Nazi.s higher ups. Christopher Waltz has been hired to play the movie.s chief villain, Col. Hans Landa, also known as .The Jew Hunter.. If he plays the part right, he.ll live up to the name. Lastly, Paul Rust is on board, though it.s unknown exactly which character he.ll be playing. Even he.s been cast as a decapitated corpse, it.ll be better than his last part as .Wheelchair Darren. in Will Ferrell.s cringingly awful Semi-Pro.

The cast of Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglorious Bastards” is growing.
According to Variety, Diane Kruger, Christoph Waltz and Raul Rust are the latest to join the ultraviolent WWII drama.
Kruger, whose acting credits include "Troy," “National Treasure” and "National Treasure: Book of Secrets," plays German actress Bridget von Hammersmark, who’s somehow involved in a plot to sabotage the Nazis.
As for Waltz, he stars as Col. Hans Landa, the film’s main antagonist. Specific details concerning Rust’s role are unknown at this stage.
Also on board of the flick are Bard Pitt, Eli Roth, Mike Myers, Michael Fassbender and B.J. Novak. Simon Pegg was also in talks to play a British lieutenant, but he had to drop out because of scheduling conflicts.
I’m very glad to hear that the casting process is going so well. That way they can head into principal photography on time and get

The Helen of Troy in the epic movie "Troy", Helen Kruger, has become the first female actor joining the varied cast ensemble of "Inglorious Bastards". For the World War II action drama, the 32-year-old has been tapped to tackle the prominent role of German actress Bridget Von Hammersmark.
Revealing the fact at the 2008 Venice International Film Festival, she gushed, "I just received a call from Quentin Tarantino, asking me to be in his next movie. I don't want to give too much away, but I'll play a German movie star." The role of Hammersmark has earlier been linked to other German actress Nastassja Kinski.
Beside Kruger, another actor recently signed for the project is German television actor Christoph Waltz. He will be filling the shoes of the primary villain, Colonel Hans Landa. His character was previously rumored to be given to Hollywood big name Leonardo DiCaprio, but later director Quentin Tarantino

Diane Kruger also starred in both National Treasure films. Surprisingly enough in the comments on my "Who is the Most Overrated Director?" article there was not one mention of Quentin Tarantino, which either means that like me you all enjoy Tarantino's flicks or those that believe he is overrated are too lazy to register because that article is getting quite a few reads. So, this means plenty of you should be interested in knowing that Diane Kruger (Helen from Troy) has joined the cast of Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards along with Christoph Waltz and Paul Rust. Kruger plays German actress Bridget Von Hammersmark, who figures prominently in a plot to sabotage the Nazis. It is a role for which Nastassja Kinski was first mentioned. Waltz, who is best known in Germany for his television work since 1977, has landed the role of Col. Hans Landa, who is the primary antagonist in the drama.

Quentin Tarantino is still rapidly assembling his Inglorious Bastards and their associates and foes, and there will be at least one fox in the pack of hounds. Diane Kruger, Troy's ship-launching face and National Treasure's Caged babe, will appear Bridget Von Hammersmark, a haughty German film star who assists the Bastards on their mission behind enemy lines. Natassja Kinski was originally linked to the role, but Kruger's stems probably look better. Additionally, the film apparently has its...

German actress Diane Kruger is to reteam with Troy co-star Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino's new war movie Inglorious Bastards.
Kruger will play a German movie star in the film, which features Pitt as a hillbilly leading a band of Jewish vigilante soldiers in World War Two.
She says, "I just found out I'm going to do Tarantino's next film with Brad Pitt and I'm very excited. Quentin just called."
Both stars have been part of the Venice Film Festival in Italy this past week - Pitt was there at the beginning of the week (begs25Aug08) to promote his new film Burn After Reading and host a charity gala, while Kruger was designer Valentino's guest at the premiere of his new documentary.
She's also the face for Swiss watch company Jaeger Le Coutre, the firm behind a lavish party she'll attend on Sunday.

Diane Kruger isn't up for a trophy at this year's Venice film festival, but Wednesday she received a prize of a different sort. "I just found out I'm going to do [Quentin] Tarantino's next film with Brad Pitt," Kruger told People at the Valentino party in Venice Thursday. "I'm very excited. Quentin just called. I play a German movie star but I don't want to give too much away." Kruger was in Venice sans boyfriend Joshua Jackson, who's "working – he has a job, you know." But, the actress added, "He comes in on Saturday so I'm excited for that, too." Kruger

British actress Saffron Burrows insisted friends called her Mandy at school - because she hated her posh name.
The Troy star admits she dreamed of having a more common name because that would be more in fitting with her dream to become a rapper.
She tells WENN, "As a child I wanted to be a rapper but my name was ridiculous, so I made my friends call me Mandy for a year at school because I wanted to be part of the proletariat."
And she insists her exotic name wasn't inspired by hippie star Donovan's ode to Saffron, Mellow Yellow.
She adds, "The lyric 'I'm just wild about Saffron' really annoyed my mother because I think he wrote it in 1969 and then it was released the minute I was born in 1972 and that infuriated her. She thought she'd been original."

Actress Diane Kruger hated starring in epic film Troy - because she didn't feel the movie challenged her enough.
The 31-year-old was so disappointed with the movie's bad reviews that she wanted to "get out" of Hollywood.
She says,"You can't tell whether I can act or not in Troy.
"It kind of sucked, to be honest. I was just starting out and didn't want to play all the parts I was subsequently offered in these big movies. I had to get out."

British actor Danny Dyer has launched a scathing attack on Orlando Bloom, insisting the Troy star doesn't deserve the praise awarded him.
The Football Factory star admits he is bitter by Bloom's success and criticises his acting ability.
And Dyer - who often hits the headlines in the U.K. for poking fun at other British actors like James McAvoy - is adamant his remarks aimed at Bloom are no joke.
He says, "I do genuinely think Orlando Bloom is a c**t. I've never met him, but he's in the same game as me and he's loaded.
"I get a bit bitter, to be honest. I'm still living in the ghetto in East London and he's earning three million quid (pounds) a film. He got lucky. He came out of drama school and got Lord Of The Rings. He wasn't all that good in it, but it put him on the map, didn't it?
"He's the opposite of me. He's got no edge to him, he's well media-trained and, basically, he's boring. Plus, he can't act. And to me, that's quite an important thing for an actor."
