- Continuity: While Pam/Babe is making her speech at the end, her hair parts from one side to the other and back between shots, and her mic switches hands. The middle shot was apparently flipped to maintain direction of movement during the sequence.
- Continuity: When Deeds is rescuing the cats, he saves a few before the characters stop in front of a stove and say that there is only one cat left. As the characters are discussing this, there is a cat in plain sight on top of a stove behind them. They do not save this one, however, since the "last cat" they are talking about is the one on fire under a chair, not this one on the stove.
- Continuity: When Deeds is eating breakfast with his butler the Cocoa Pebbles box moves several times between shots.
- Continuity: After the funeral scene, as Deeds is eating breakfast, the ice cream on the pie changes between shots.

- Continuity: When Chuck and Cecil exit the helicopter in Mandrake Falls, the rotors are still spinning, but they are completely still in the next shot.
- Continuity: When they visit Pam's house in Winchestertonfieldville, Iowa, the red door changes to blue then back to red.
- Continuity: When Deeds is in the mansion and everyone is shouting (the echo scene), the elevator man is standing behind him, wearing white gloves, which disappear for one shot.

- Continuity: In the credits, George Wallace is listed as playing the "NAACP administrator", however, his character is actually supposed to be an administrator with the United Negro College Fund.
- Continuity: The movie takes place over a "few days" while Chuck gets the paperwork signed to get Deeds his money. When Chuck and Cecil pick Deeds up from his hometown to take him to New York, the helicopter lands on bright green turf and folks in town are wearing summer clothes. By the time Deeds leaves New York a short time later, it's winter. Ponds are iced over and the snow is thick on the ground, as if it has been winter for some time.
- Audio/visual unsynchronized: When one of the helicopter pilots turns round to face Deeds, his lips move briefly as thought he is talking, but we don't hear him say anything.

- Revealing mistakes: When Deeds slides into the table, before he hits it, it has started to break.
- Factual errors: The Wendy's shown is not in Connecticut, as mentioned by Marty, but is actually in Carmel, New York, about 10 minutes outside of Connecticut.
- Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Deeds is walking down the street with Chuck Cedar and Cecil Anderson, they're discussing the details of Deed's inheritance. As Anderson is talking, Cedar buts in saying they just need some time to "dot the T's and cross the I's" instead of "cross the T's and dot the I's".
- Continuity: In the beginning of the movie when Anderson and Chuck are talking to Deeds inside the town's bar, Anderson's scarf goes from inside his overcoat to outside his overcoat several times. Later on the street while talking with the older ladies, Chuck's scarf is straight, then is twisted in matter of seconds.
