Trivia:

When the boys are in the pool watching Wendy Peffercorn, the dialog: "She don't know what she's doing" and the answer "Yes she does, she knows exactly what she's doing" is the same as in a similar scene in Cool Hand Luke (1967).

Goofs:

Continuity: When Benny slides for the baseball, he grabs it with his right hand. When he gets back up and runs though, the ball switches to his left hand.

How can you not love this movie?

One of the best "kid" movies that I have ever seen. A story about friendship and baseball, and the people in our lives. Great one to watch with your friends to reminisce about the old days. Look for a great cameo by James Earl Jones. Recommended for those of us who had great friends growing up, and never wanted the good times to end.
