S. Shankar's 10th film which has been on hold due to various problems for some time now is slated to begin production shortly, and it may be an Indian produced film, but locations have been scouted all over the globe and it looks like a real international production. "While Mary E Vogt, the well known designer who has worked in Hollywood movies like Men in Black, Batman Returns and Inspector Gadget will be designing the scientific outfits for the sci-fi movie, the animatronics of the film will be handled by the Stan Winston Studio (USA), which was responsible for the impressive animation sequences in movies such as Predator, Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor, Iron man and the Terminator. The visual effects and animatronics co-ordination will be done by Indian Artiste. Stunt director Yuen Woo Ping, who made audiences gasp with his stunts in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Matrix and Kill Bill,

We generally don't like to get all political here, because Team America's skewering of entertainment types thinking they should butt in and try to change the world is too perfect. But without delving into the whole sexism versus racism thing that the pundits are turning this year's presidential race into, we do have one issue that we've been supporting - the movement to Stop the Domain Subsidies. This is a local issue, and one that people on both sides of our city's aisle can look at objectively, so that's all we're going to ask you to do. Check out the video and information available at StopDomainSubsidies.com, and whatever you decide is best for the version of the city you want to live in, vote for it one way or another this fall. Okay, enough soap boxing. Let's get to the fun!

Ken forgot to put his clothes on again... Danny Elfman is scoring The Wolfman and for some reason that is a big deal. Pesonally Elfman ain't all that in my book. Alert: Another rumor lie that has been posted online says Christopher Nolan is looking at Cher for Catwoman in the next Batman film that he hasn't signed on to make and doesn't have a script for. Once again, any movie site you see that posts this as an actual rumor and not a lie should be completely disregarded at this point. Screenwriter Roberto Orci answered a bunch of questions regarding Transformers 2 for a group of fans. One such answer tells us the inspirations for the sequel include Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, Close Encounters and Terminator 2 I accidentally came across a copy of Kevin Smith's "Superman Lives" script if you wanted to read it. The opening credits to RocknRolla are online.

In case you wonder where I am when I’m not pestering you here on Screen Rant, I keep myself busy blogging about Nascar. It’s always easy to figure out where I’ll be. If I’m not at the track, I’m glued in front of my TV watching auto racing, specifically, Nascar. then Sci-Fi, then action movies, then… well you get it.
I’ve been feebly trying to sneak a Nascar post in here from since, well, forever. I finally get to talk about it here on Screen Rant! Vic is letting me because I am sneaking it in under the umbrella of TV news. Ha Ha!
In my “bio”, he says he can’t figure out the common ground between my love for Sci-Fi, Comic Books and Nascar.
Well here it is:
Yates Racing and NBC announced a unique partnership with and between Ford Motor Company and NBC.

Serial killers are scary. So are mutant monsters. But in the collective American imagination, the terror they elicit is often no greater than that generated by malevolent corporate behemoths. Wielding stealthy political clout, recklessly tampering with genetics and technology, and casting morality aside in favor of profit, they're the avaricious power structures that loom large over our public and private lives, covertly pulling strings from their ivory towers while commissioning dirty deeds to be furtively carried out in the shadows of the night. Fueling our Big Brother fears, corporations are usually portrayed as villainous, and have most vigorously thrived in science fiction, where contemporary anxieties about nefarious boardroom conduct can be largely, fancifully projected. Consequently, it's not surprising that our list of the ten best fictional cinematic businesses turns out to be heavily skewed in that futuristic genre's favor, with the lone truly upstanding company to make

Drew Peterson. You know the name. The much-publicized, silver-haired mustachioed former cop from Illinois someplace. The multiple-married, one-time police sergeant who is being questioned about whether he was instrumental in whatever reason his last wife's body seems to stay unfound. The guy who also - while he's at it and while the fuzz are at it - possibly knows who maybe knocked off a previous wife.
Out on bail, initially arrested on weapons charges, known to have possessed 11 guns, this cool dude's repeatedly been on morning TV pooh-poohing all allegations including, most recently, the newest information which is that friends - now

A 5.4-scale earthquake in Los Angeles has closed Jurassic Park.
Universal Studios themepark bosses closed the popular water ride and their Mummy attraction shortly after the shaker struck on Tuesday morning. The park remains open.
Meanwhile, Disneyland bosses shut down all their attractions after the quake. The rides will be re-opened following a widespread park inspection.
The epicentre of the quake was in Chino Hills, California - 30 miles outside Los Angeles. More than 30 aftershocks had been reported as WENN went to press.

Is there anything better than a good dinosaur fight?
If you are as big a fan of the original 1933 "King Kong" (the only one that counts) as I am, then you know by heart the epic dino battles on Skull Island set the standard for everything that came after.
Some were horrible, and some, like those in "Jurassic Park," were gloriously scary. And now we have History Channel's new and epic series, "Jurassic Fight Club," that is so good, you and your kids will view it more like an adventure movie than a learning experience.

The numbers are staggering. Now that we've had a day to reflect on The Dark Knight's record-breaking million debut, some of the other numbers are coming into focus, including one record it didn't set in its landmark opening weekend.
Of course, $158 million is the new standard for blockbusters; that's the new actual number provided today by Box Office Mojo. There have only been 11 films to debut with over $100 million in Friday - Sunday ticket sales, a trend that began with Spider-Man in 2002. I remember when Jurassic Park and its $47 million opening weekend was a goal nobody could ever hope to reach again, and 15 years later, The Dark Knight made that much in two of the three days.
Fueled by a deep devotion to the character as well as by interest in Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker, The Dark Knight was the epitome of a lines-around-the-block movie this weekend.

Low-budget filmmakers often regurgitate plotlines to make a buck or two on whatever's hot. Look at the 1974 blaxploitation flick Abby (a blatant Exorcist rip-off) or the recent Transmorphers (which needs no further clarification). Unless it's a sanctioned remake, they rarely cite their source material… and even when they're blatant about it, the casual moviegoer can pick up on what The DaVinci Treasure is trying to cash in on. Let's face it, most of these folks aren't claiming to be innovative.
But what happens when they do claim to be original? On top of that, what happens when the tables are turned and Hollywood rips off lesser-known (or simply outdated) features? It doesn't just happen… it happens all the time – especially in genre films.
Just because their names are Ridley Scott, Michael Bay, and Sam Raimi doesn't mean they shouldn't cite their source material. "Homages" my adorable butt. These are rip-offs,

Legendary director Spielberg led the afternoon's tributes, telling the gathering, "What Stan did is that he took our dreams - he took all of our dreams - and he blended them with his own dreams.
"He then workshopped those dreams with pencil, clay and later years on the computer. He would basically give life to all of our ideas. He would make them come to life."

The last time I took a survey, I got screwed over.
A few years back I participated in a survey for my cable company and it asked what specialty channels I liked. Ie: Being a fervent Nascar fan, I admitted to The Speed Channel and a few others. A year later my favorite channels were on their own special programming tier that I had to pay extra for.
After talking to a lot of people back then about that survey and what they told me, it seems all the survey did was tell the cable company what channels to charge extra for. Thanks Mr. Cable company. I’ll remember that one.
With that said: What do Blade Runner, Firefly and 1984 all have in common?
They topped their respective categories in a survey titled “Visions for Tomorrow” that The Sci-Fi Channel conducted asking site visitors to report in on their favorite movies,
