Return Of The evil Dead is the second film in writer-director Amando de Ossorio's Blind Dead series. Each film is essentially the same story told over again with a small variation on the plot. This film, however, bears the closest resemblance to the original as its plot is almost identical, just with new characters. Had some time been spent on creating a new story, this film would have been even better than the first. Yet the fact that the story remains so close to the original makes it feel more like a remake than a sequel. On the plus side, de Ossorio has really gotten a firm grip on what his villains are like and he presents them far better than in the first film. everything about the knights Templar is more creepy and effective than the last time out. So that's what I mean by better (in some ways) yet worse (its just the same thing rehashed) than the first film.
