Mini Biography

After the Holloway family moved from Atascadero, California, where her sister Brenda Holloway was born, to Los Angeles, Patrice was born in 1948. She was made famous from her songs Do the Del Viking (Pt. 1/Pt. 2; in which her sister was the backup singer), Black Mother Goose, For the Love of Mike, Love & Desire, Ecstacy, Stolen Hours, Keep On Rolling, Those D.J. Shows, He's the Boy of My Dreams (a song about Stevie Wonder), Stay With Your Own Kind, That's All You Got to Do, & Come Into My Palace (the only song her & her sister, Brenda, sang that was a duet). She then was called in by Hanna-Barbera Prod. to do the singing voice of Valerie Brown, for the background chasing-scenes music in their newest cartoon series "Josie and the Pussycats," which premiered September 12, 1970 on CBS's Saturday line-up. The series made wonderful bubblegum music, with such hits like Stop, Look & Listen, I Wanna Make You Happy, You've Come A Long Way Baby, & Lie, Lie, Lie. The series then ended on September 2, 1972. Then she reprised her role as the singing voice of Valerie Brown in the new series "Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space," that premiered just 7 days after the cancellation of "Josie and the Pussycats." Sadly, after 16 episodes the series was canceled, & ended on September 1, 1973.
